I have a NI PCI 6010 DAQ. Is there any way to extend the I/O cable beyond 2m? Any adapters or longer cables that would work with my DAQ? I am capturing data from a device which needs to be more than 12 feet away from my PC.

Thanks,
Chris.

Hello Chris, I believe that the accuracy specifications of our measurements may be compromised if you use a cable longer than the longest we provide. Longer cables always introduce more noise than shorter cables of the same type so as a general rule it is best to use minimize the distance between your measurement device and the sensor. If moving the PC closer to the measurement location is not an option you may want to consider getting a USB Bus Powered M Series device--then you could use a USB extender to put the measurement device further away from your computer. Another option would be to use the Wireless DAQ options that were just released.
